Marc R. Alexander
Ordained: 1985
An alumnus of St. Anthony School in Kailua, Alexander held various diocesan leadership positions after becoming an ordained priest of the Diocese of Honolulu in 1985. He began his priesthood as parochial vicar at St. John Vianney Church in Kailua and eventually became the pastor of Sacred Heart Church and Maryknoll School in Punahou. His priestly faculties were withdrawn when he abruptly left the priesthood for a job in government in 2011. He resigned from that position in 2012 when details of a sexual relationship he had had with a woman while he was a priest became public. In 2014, he was sued by a woman who claimed that when she was 16 years old, Alexander sexually assaulted her while serving as a deacon at St. John Vianney in 1984. The case settled in 2016.
