Gerald Funcheon

Father Gerald Funcheon was a prolific abuser who worked at schools and churches in Nebraska, Indiana, Minnesota, Florida, California, and Hawai’i. He was in Honolulu from 1982 to 1984, serving as a chaplain for the Air National Guard and the Irish Christian Brothers as well as a chaplain, counselor, and teacher at Damien Memorial High School. Funcheon was transferred out of the school after parents came to the principal with concerns about his behavior. Multiple former Damien students have named him as their abuser in lawsuits filed in 2012 and 2013.
