George DeCosta
Ordained: 1964
In 2012, two plaintiffs alleged that Father George DeCosta sexually abused them when they were students at Damien Memorial High School in Honolulu in the 1960s. After leaving Damien, DeCosta became the parish priest at Malia Puka O Kalani Church in Keaukaha and remained there for nearly thirty years until his retirement in 2002. In 1998, DeCosta was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, and he may have been forced into retirement. In 2012, he was defrocked when he failed a polygraph test.
