Catholic Priest

Arthur O'Brien

Ordained:

Father O’Brien came to Hawai’i in 1985, a year after he faced accusations of sexual abuse in Washington, D.C. In 1992, while he was serving as the pastor of a Maui church, he was convicted for the 1989 sexual assault of a 10-year-old boy. Though stripped of his priestly duties in 1993, O’Brien remained a retired priest for the Diocese of Honolulu even after this conviction.
